Kasugamycin is a kind of alkalescent water soluble antibiotic. Stable under normal and temperature and in acid solutions, but it will be inactivated in alkaline solutions. The Kasugamycin hydrochloride is insoluble in organic solvents. Freely soluble in water (12.5% w/v at 25C) and insoluble in methanol, ethanol, benzene, chloroform.

Kasugamycin is a kind of biopesticide which has a strong systemic permeability. Compared with prevention effect, the remedy effect is more obvious. The mechanism of action of Kasugamycin: Inhibite esterase system of pathogenic bacteria's amino acid metabolism, destroy protein's biosynthesis, inhibit hypha's growth and granulated cell, pathogenic bacteria lost the effect of breeding and inflection, therefore to kill the pathogenic bacteria, prevent and cure diseases.
As a kind of biological pesticide, Kasugamycin has the special effect to control paddy rice sheath blight. The average of control efficiency is above 85%, 90% even can be achieved at some places. Besides control paddy rice sheath blight, Kasugamycin also be used for control tomato leaf mold, canker, angular leaf spot of cucumber, blight, anthracnosis, orange canker, bacterial spot of red pepper and etc. Kasugamycin is popular for its no harmful to human and domestic animals, no residuals and pollution- free. Kasugamycin is recommended as AA grade product for green food by China Green Food Development Center, recommended pesticide for pollution-free agricultural products by Ministry of Agriculture, choice antiseptic for vegetable standard project by Shanghai. Kasugamycin also exported to Japan, Southeast Asia, South America and etc.
